Abstract

Središnja tema ovog diplomskog rada je određivanje razine medijske kompetencije nastavnika i profesora provedenim pilot-istraživanjem u šest osnovnih i šest srednjih škola u Zagrebu i okolici.
Posjedovanje medijske kompetencije znači poznavanje pravilnog korištenja medija, kritičko vrednovanje medija te odabir odgovarajućeg medija za zadovoljenje osobnih potreba.
Medijska kompetencija u ovom je radu analizirana kroz opća znanja i stavove nastavnika i profesora o medijima, razini educiranosti o medijima, načinu korištenja medija te učestalosti korištenja određenih medija u nastavi. Također, željelo se ispitati i u kojoj su mjeri škole tehnički opremljene te imaju li uvjete za korištenje medija u nastavi.
Istraživanje je provedeno u šest osnovnih i šest srednjih škola u Zagrebu i okolici, a sudjelovao je 181 ispitanik; 88 nastavnika i 93 profesora. Istraživanje je provedeno metodom anketnog upitnika u obliku Likertove ljestvice. Anketni upitnik sastojao se od pitanja za ocjenjivanje uvjeta škole za korištenje medija u nastavi te ocjenjivanja razine vlastite medijske kompetencije.
Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su kako škole uglavnom imaju uvjete za korištenje medija u nastavi, da nastavnici i profesori smatraju da su dovoljno medijski kompetentni te da posjeduju medijsku pismenost koju prenose na svoje učenike. Od medija u nastavnom procesu, nastavnici i profesori koji su sudjelovali u ovom istraživanju najviše koriste tekstualne medije te računalo i internet.

Abstract (english)

The main topic of this thesis is to determine the level of media competence of teachers and professors by conducting a pilot study in six primary and six high schools in and around Zagreb.
Possessing a media competence means knowing the proper media usage, critical evaluation of the media, and selection the appropriate media to satisfy current needs.
In this thesis, media competence was analyzed through general knowledge and attitudes of the media that teachers and professors possess, the level of media education, the way that the media was used and frequency of the usage of a certain media in the classroom. Also, the author wanted to examine do these teachers and professors have conditions that enable them to use media in teaching process in technically equipped schools where they work.
The research was conducted in six primary and six high schools in Zagreb and its surroundings and it included 181 examinees; 88 teachers and 93 professors. The survey was conducted by a questionnaire in the form of Likert scale. Questions in the questionnaire referred to assessing the conditions that schools have for using media in teaching and assessing the level of their media competence.
The results showed that schools generally have the conditions for using media in education, that teachers feel that they have sufficient media competence and media literacy that they pass to their students. Teachers and professors that participated in this research declared that the most used media in the teaching process were text media, computer and the Internet.
