Abstract (english) | The aim of the study is to examine to what extent students use self-assessment methods and to investigate whether there is a link between practicing self-development and healthy lifestyle. The study was carried out on a occasional sample. The quantitative methodology used in this research is an online survey in the 'Google Forms' system. The tools used in this study were a questionnaire on healthy lifestyle and personal control (Darviri et al., 2014) and four questions related to practicing meditation, yoga, reading literature about personal development, attending workshops, training or lectures about personal development. This type of sample included students of the undergraduate and graduate studies of Croatian Studies (260 respondents), of which 69.1% were female students and 31.9% male students, the average age of 23.5 years. Collected survey data were analyzed in the statistical program SPSS Statistics IBM 22. The results of the research showed that the largest number of students does not practice any of the self-development methods, and most of them practice one method, followed by two, three and at the last place four methods. Most of them read books, followed by meditation, yoga, and finally workshops, lectures and seminars. Students who practice any of the methods of selfdevelopment are more inclined to take into account both healthy eating and physical activity. Furthermore, it turned out that more female students are practicing yoga than male students. When it comes to healthy lifestyles, students most often use habits that help mental and social balance, followed by day-to-day routine and then follow healthy eating and physical activity. |
