Abstract

Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je provjeriti valjanost strukture upitnika radnih vrijednosti EVAT na uzorku hrvatskih studenata. EVAT se temelji na postavkama Schwartzove teorije univerzalnog sadržaja i strukture vrijednosti, a dosad je primijenjen samo na uzorku zaposlenika u Španjolskoj, Portugalu, Italiji i Hrvatskoj. Uz EVAT, korišten je i Schwartzov upitnik radnih vrijednosti prilagoĎen radnom kontekstu W-PVQ. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 292 studenata iz Hrvatske, s osam različitih fakulteta, a podaci su prikupljani metodom „papir-olovka“. Primjenom eksploratorne faktorske analize ekstrahirana su 3 interpretabilna faktora te je metodom Multidimenzionalnog skaliranja (MDS) provjerena struktura vrijednosti u dvodimenzionalnom prostoru. Dobivena struktura odgovara strukturi očekivanoj prema Schwartzovoj teoriji, odnosno čestice su se grupirale na četiri vrijednosti višeg reda: Zadržavanje tradicionalnih odnosa, Otvorenost za promjene, Vlastiti probitak te Vlastito odricanje. Dobivene su umjerene do visoke korelacije izmeĎu istih vrijednosti višeg reda u dva primijenjena upitnika. Analizom varijance te post hoc analizom provjerene su razlike izmeĎu studenata različitih fakultetskih smjerova u vrijednostima višeg reda te je dobiveno da studenti društveno humanističkog smjera imaju značajno više rezultate od studenata tehničkog smjera na dimenzijama Vlastito odricanje i Otvorenost za promjene čime se djelomično potvrĎuju teorijska očekivanja. Provjerene su i spolne razlike te je dobivena očekivana razlika na dimenziji Vlastitog probitka gdje su muškarci imali značajno viši rezultat od žena. Dobiveni nalazi potvrĎuju valjanost upitnika EVAT te upućuju na njegovu primjenjivost na populaciji hrvatskih studenata u svrhu njihovog profesionalnog usmjeravanja, selekcije i zapošljavanja.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this study was to examine structure validity of the work value questionnaire EVAT on the Croatian students' sample. EVAT is originated from Schwartz's theory of basic human values, and till now has been only used on sample of employees in Spain, Portugal, Italy and Croatia. Beside EVAT, we have used Schwartz`s Portrait Value Questionnaire adopted in work context W-PVQ. The study involved 292 croatian students from 8 faculties and data were collected by "paper & pencile“. Exploratory factor analysis extracted 3 main factors and using Multidimensional scaling we checked the value structure. The multidimensional scaling confirmed the work value structure which corresponds the structure from Schwartz's theory. Moreover, items were grouped in four groups by its content so we have extracted four higher-order values: self-transcendence, self-enhancement, tradition and openness to change. Using one way ANOVA and post hoc test, we have examined differences on EVAT higher order values between faculties and between male and female. Students of social-humanity faculty achieve significantly higher results then engineering faculty students on dimensions self-transcendence and openness to change what partially confirmes our hypotesis. Differences between male and female were found on higher order dimension selfenhacement where male students had higher results than female which is in line with our expectations. The findings confirm the validity of the EVAT questionnaire and indicate its applicability to the population of Croatian students for their career guidance, selection, and employment.
