Abstract

Na chat se javljaju djeca i adolescenti koja iskazuju kompleksnije psihosocijalne teškoće, a djeca i adolescenti koji se samoozljeđuju preferiraju komunikaciju putem chata. Cilj istraživanja je bio utvrditi socijalne, obiteljske i psihološke čimbenike djece i adolescenata koji se javljaju s problemom samoozljeđivanja, a traže pomoć kroz chat savjetovanje. Korištena je sadržajna analiza 24 chata iz baze Hrabrog telefona koje su volonteri označili kao savjetodavne s problematikom samoozljeđivanja. Istraživanje je pokazalo kako se djeca i adolescenti suočavaju s problemima na sva tri područja. Djeca nisu zadovoljna dostupnošću i učinkovitošću socijalne podrške, kao ni dostupnošću i učinkovitošću stručne podrške. Imaju negativna iskustva sa školskim psiholozima, razrednicima i ravnateljima. Opisuju loše odnose među roditeljima i nezadovoljavajuće odnose s roditeljima. Od roditelja ne dobivaju podršku. Neka djeca su žrtve emocionalnog i fizičkog zlostavljanja i zanemarivanja. Roditelji u većini ne znaju za samoozljeđivanje zbog toga što se djeca boje njihove reakcije, a oni koji znaju su imali neprimjernu reakciju. Petero djece je navelo kako imaju suicidalne misli. Najčešće spominjane emocije su beznađe, bespomoćnost, praznina, usamljenost i krivnja. Izjavljuju da su nezadovoljni samima sobom, imaju nisko samopouzdanje i vrlo su samokritični prema sebi. Emocionalna regulacija i bijeg od neugodnih emocionalnih stanja su najčešće funkcije samoozljeđivanja, a najčešći način je rezanje žiletom. Ovo ponašanje opisuju kao ovisnost. Iako je nužno raditi na poboljšanju podrške djeci i adolescentima koji se samoozljeđuju u njihovoj realnoj okolini, chat savjetovanje će za mnoge od njih ostati bitan izvor podrške. Stoga bi bilo korisno proširiti istraživanja u ovom području te poboljšati kvalitetu chat savjetovanja, kao i drugih oblika intervencija.

Abstract (english)

Children and adolescents who contact chat are reporting more complex psychosocial difficulties, and children and adolescents who self-injure prefer communication through chat. The focus of this research was to determine social, family and psychological variables of children and adolescents who self-injure and are seeking help through chat counseling. Based on 24 chats from Brave Phone’s database, labeled as counseling with a problem of self-injury, that were analyzed qualitatively, the research showed that children and adolescents face problems in all three areas of their lives. They are not satisfied with the availability and efficiency of social support, nor are they satisfied with the support of people in schools – teachers and psychologists. They report bad experiences when talking to them. Additionally, children describe the domestic relationships between parents as negative and feel likewise about their personal relationship with their parents. They do not get support from them. Some children are victims of emotional and physical abuse and neglect. Most parents don’t know about self-injury and those who do know had an inappropriate reaction. Five children reported suicidal thoughts. Hopelessness, helplessness, numbness, loneliness, and guilt were the most reported emotions. Children report being unhappy with themselves, having low self-esteem and high levels of self-criticism. Emotional regulation was most often mentioned as a function of self- injury and cutting as a means of self-injury. This behavior was described as an addiction. Although it is necessary to provide better support to children and adolescents who self-injure in their real environment, chat counseling will stay an important source of support for many of them. Therefore, it would be useful to explore this area in the future as well as enhance the quality of chat counselling and other means of intervention.
