Abstract

Tema ovog diplomskog rada je Virtualni svijet i pitanje otuđenosti mladih. Razvoj
tehnologije doveo je do promjene u načinu komuniciranja. Mladi sve više vremena provode
online što rezultira time da je stvaran svijet pod sve većim pritiskom virtualnog (Mužić, 2014:
400). Virtualni svijet nam omogućava sklapanje online prijateljstava, no istovremeno potiče
izbjegavanje stvarne socijalizacije. Mladi kao dio društva su umreženi, no pojedinci su često
„sami zajedno“ (Turkle, 2012). Sherry Turkle se stoga pita: Zašto očekujemo više od
tehnologije, a manje jedni od drugih? Posljedično, novi mediji mogu imati utjecaj na
interpersonalne odnose. Kako bismo ispitali i utvrdili percepciju otuđenosti kod mladih,
proveli smo anketno (online) istraživanje među studentskom populacijom, točnije
ispitanicima od 18 do 30 godina, čije rezultate predstavljamo i tumačimo u ovome radu.

Abstract (english)

The topic of this diploma thesis is: Virtual world and the issue of alienation of the youth. The
development of technology has led to a change in the way we communicate. Young people
are spending more and more time online which results that the real world is under increasing
pressure from the virtual (Mužić, 2014: 400). The virtual world enables us to make online
friends, however, at the same time, it encourages the avoidance of real socialization. Young
people as a part of society are networked, but individuals are often „alone together“ (Turkle,
2012). Sherry Turkle, therefore, wonders: Why do we expect more from technology and less
from each other? Consequently, new media can have an impact on interpersonal
relationships. To examine and determine the perception of alienation in young people, we
conducted an online survey among the student population, more precisely respondents aged
18 to 30 years, which results we present and interpret in this work.
