Instagram je jedna od najpopularnijih društvenih mreža kod mladih, kako u svijetu, tako i u
Hrvatskoj. Budući da u Hrvatskoj nema mnogo istraživanja na temu rutina povezanih uz
korištenje Instagrama, cilj ovog istraživanja otkriti je ima li razlika u načinu korištenja
Instagrama mladih s obzirom na njihovu dob i spol. Također, pojasnit će se kako se
komunikacija promijenila od pojave interneta i društvenih medija, što su to društvene mreže i
kako su one nastale, razvoj i uloga Instagrama u životu mladih, kao i motivacija korištenja
Instagrama te pozitivni i negativni učinci korištenja Instagrama. Predstavit ćemo i obilježja
odrastanja mladih te osobitosti milenijalaca i generacije Z kako bismo što kvalitetnije mogli
interpretirati rezultate istraživanja. Istraživanje je provedeno na mladima od 15 do 30 godina
pomoću kojeg su se putem anketnog upitnika nastojale utvrditi prakse i navike korištenja
Instagrama u svakodnevnom životu mladih u Hrvatskoj.

Abstract (english)

Instagram is one of the most popular social networks among young people, both worldwide
and in Croatia. Since there is not much research in Croatia regarding the routines related to the
use of Instagram, the aim of this research is to discover whether there is a difference in the way
young people use Instagram with regard to their age and gender. We will explain how
communication has changed since the emergence of the Internet and social media, we will
define social networks and explain their history. Furthermore, we will focus on the
development and role of Instagram in the lives of young people, the motivation to use
Instagram and the positive and negative effects of using Instagram. We will also describe the
characteristics of the youth, millennials and generation Z in order to interpret the obtained
research results better. The research was conducted on young people aged 15 to 30, during
which a questionnaire was used to determine the practice and habits of using Instagram in the
daily life of young people in Croatia.
