Abstract

Uz konoplju se veţu, kako pozitivne, tako i negativne konotacije. S obzirom na to da je
njena uporaba nelegalna ili regulirana posebnim normama u mnogim drţavama svijeta, jedna
skupina društva zbog toga izričito pati. Riječ je o oboljelima od raznoraznih bolesti kojima
konzumiranje derivata konoplje uvelike pomaţu u sprječavanju simptoma. Sukladno
navedenom, središte istraţivanja ovog diplomskog rada je slučaj Huanita Luksetića –
hrvatskog pacijenta kojem je ulje konoplje pomagalo u tretiranju multiple skleroze. MeĎutim,
zbog posebne zakonske regulative u Hrvatskoj, osuĎen je zbog uzgoja i uporabe konoplje pod
sumnjom da ju je proizvodio zbog daljnje distribucije. Na temelju dvaju hrvatskih portala, 24
sata i Večernjeg lista, prikazat će se razina objektivnosti navedenih medija tijekom
izvještavanja o ovom delikatnom slučaju te pokušati saznati jesu li oni bili uspješni u tome,
kao i jesu li ostali dosljedni činjenicama ili su pak pokleknuli pred senzacionalizmom. Imajući
u vidu nalaze mnogobrojnih istraţivanja, koja pokazuju mnoge prednosti, ali i opasnosti
konzumiranja konoplje, ovim radom nastojalo se provjeriti vrijedi li teza jesu li ti mediji
objektivno prikazivali cijeli slučaj od početka do kraja, te jesu li obogatili spoznaje javnosti
glede dobrih i loših strana (zlo)upotrebe medicinske konoplje.

Abstract (english)

Both positive and negative connotations are associated with cannabis. Given that its usage is
illegal or regulated by special norms in many countries around the world, but one group of
society explicitly suffers because of it. These are people suffering from various diseases
whose consumption of cannabis products greatly helps them to prevent symptoms. In that
regard, the center of research paper is the case of Huanito Luksetić - a Croatian example to
which cannabis oil helped in the treatment of multiple sclerosis. However, due to special
legislation in Croatia, he was convicted of growing and using cannabis on suspicion of
producing it for further distribution. Based on two Croatian portals, 24 sata and Večernji list,
the level of objectivity of the mentioned media during the reporting of this delicate case will
be shown and see whether they were successful at showing facts or they succumbed to
sensationalism. Having in mind the findings of numerous researches, which show many
advantages, but also dangers of cannabis consumption, this paper tried to check whether the
thesis is valid that these media objectively presented the whole case from beginning to end
and whether they enriched public knowledge about the pros and cons. (mis) use of medical
cannabis.
