Abstract
U diplomskom radu prikazan je međusobni odnos između Turske i Europske unije. Uz to je opisana moderna povijest Republike Turske od Atatürka koji je zaslužan za stvaranje današnje sekularne Turske, do današnjeg predsjednika Erdoğana koji sve više autokratno vlada Turskom posljednjih trinaest godina, te se optužuje za „uništavanje“ sekularnih vrijednosti i za sve veću islamizaciju ove velike države. Na kraju rada iznosi se promišljanje o postojanju mogućnosti ulaska današnje Turske u Europsku uniju u skorašnjoj budućnosti, a razmatrano je i pitanje prevelikih kulturoloških razlika između ta dva svijeta, razlika koje onemogućuju njihovo zbližavanje.
Abstract (english)
Thesis deals with the mutual relations between Turkey and the European Union. Additionally to it is described the modern history of the Turkish Republic from Atatürk who was responsible for the creation of today's secular Turkey to present President Erdoğan. Who is autocratic governing Turkey for the last 13 years, and is accused for "destruction" of secular values and the increasing Islamization of this great state.
