Abstract

Društvene mreže postale su svakodnevni mediji društvene komunikacije kojima se služe sve dobne skupine ljudi. Značajno utječu na stavove i ponašanje pojedinca te na navike i običaje umreženog društva i kulture. Zbog njihova utjecaja i raširenosti upotrebe, društvenim mrežama Facebooku i Instagramu, kao mreže koje se najviše koriste, posvećuje se sve više pozornosti. Višegodišnje korištenje društvenih mreža i raširenost njihove upotrebe uzrokuju nastajanje fenomena čije uzroke upravo povezujemo uz društvene mreže. Stoga je cilj ovoga rada istražiti u kojoj mjeri društvene mreže utječu na mentalno zdravlje mladih? Kako je mentalno zdravlje mladih u krizi, a posebice u razdoblju pandemije, potrebno je smanjiti različite utjecaje koji bi mogli više naštetiti nego koristiti mentalnom zdravlju mladih. Prema Svjetskoj zdravstvenoj organizaciji, mentalno zdravlje je stanje dobrobiti u kojem se pojedinac ostvaruje, podnosi redovite životne probleme, stvaralački djeluje i raznovrsno pridonosi svojoj društvenoj skupini. Utječu li i na koji način društvene mreže na mentalno zdravlje mladih, tema je anketnog istraživanja u kojoj se istražuju mogući utjecaji društvenih mreža na mentalno zdravlje mladih kojima su mladi svakodnevno izloženi, a potencijalno, i podložni putem društvenih mreža što će pak potvrditi ili opovrgnuti naše hipoteze.

Abstract (english)

Social networks have become everyday media of social communication used by all age groups of people. They significantly influence the attitudes and behavior of individuals and the habits and customs of networked society and culture. Due to their influence and widespread use, social networks Facebook and Instagram, as the most used networks, are receiving more and more attention. Long-term use of social networks and the widespread use of them cause the emergence of phenomena whose causes we associate with social networks. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to investigate to what extent social networks affect the mental health of young people? As the mental health of young people is in crisis, and especially in the period of a pandemic, it is necessary to reduce various influences that could do more harm than good to the mental health of young people. According to the World Health Organization, mental health is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes himself, endures regular life problems, works creatively and makes a diverse contribution to his social group. Whether and in what way social networks affect the mental health of young people is the topic of a survey research in which the possible effects of social networks on the mental health of young people are investigated, which young people are exposed to on a daily basis, and potentially subject to via social networks, which will confirm or refute our hypotheses.
