Abstract

Društvo 16. stoljeća na području današnje Hrvatske činili su plemstvo i Crkva, građanstvo te seljaštvo. U tom je razdoblju često dolazilo do sukoba između navedenih društvenih skupina. Najveći i najpoznatiji takav sukob bila je Seljačka buna iz 1573. godine. Žarište bune bilo je Susedgradsko-stubičko vlastelinstvo. Iako se brzo proširila na golemi teritorij te se u nju uključio veliki broj seljaka, buna je ugušena već nakon desetak dana. Kao uzroci bune najčešće se spominje pogoršani položaj seljaka i okrutnosti vlastelina Franje Tahyja. Uz povećanja tereta, život seljaka otežalo je njihovo potiskivanje iz procesa trgovine, čime su im se prihodi osjetno smanjili. Sljedeći razlog koji su povjesničari navodili kao uzrok seljačkog ustanka bili su prikriveni interesi vojnika s vlastelinstva. Prema tom gledištu, oni su seljake uvukli u bunu s namjerom da se izbore za rad pod carem i tako si osiguraju određene povlastice. Kao uzrok Bune također se spominjala trgovina vlastelinstvom te sukob oko vlasništva nad njim. Glavni akteri spomenutog sukoba bili su Uršula Henning i obitelj Gregorijanec s jedne strane i Franjo Tahy s druge strane. Važnu ulogu u često nelegalnoj trgovini vlastelinstvom imali su habsburški vladari Ferdinand I. i Maksimilijan II. Osim historiografskih pogleda na Bunu, u radu će biti prikazana važnija književna i umjetnička djela koja su se njome bavila. Također će biti riječi o korištenju događaja iz 1573. u razne političke svrhe.

Abstract (english)

The society of the 16th century in the territory of today's Croatia consisted of nobility and the Church, citizenship, and peasantry. The aforementioned social groups were often conflicted at that time. The biggest and the most famous conflict was Peasants' Rebellion of 1573. The focal point of the mutiny was Susedgrad-Stubica seigniory. Although the rebellion quickly spread to the vast territory and included a large number of peasants, the uprisings were defeated after just ten days. As the cause of the rebellion, most commonly mentioned is the deteriorating position of the peasants and the cruelty of the nobleman Franjo Tahy. Other than the tax increase, the lives of the peasants were aggravated by pushing them out of the trade process, which sharply reduced their revenue. The next reason historians have pointed out as the cause of the peasant uprising were the hidden interests of the soldiers from the seigniory. According to that view, they have pushed the peasants into a rebellion with the intention of working under the emperor and thus securing certain privileges. The trade of the seigniory and the conflict over its ownership was mentioned as another cause of the rebellion. The main participants of that conflict were Ursula Henning and Gregorijanec family on one side, and Franjo Tahy on the other side. Ferdinand I and Maximilian II, the Habsburg rulers, played an important role in the often illegal trade of the seigniory. Apart from the historiographical views, this thesis will present the most important literary and art works that have dealt with the rebellion. The use of the events from 1573 for various political purposes will also be mentioned.
