Abstract

Područje ljudske seksualnosti je tijekom povijesti doživjelo razne transformacije. Ako se povijesni slijed fokusira na razdoblje antike, srednjeg i novog vijeka, te suvremenog doba, moguće je uočiti da je odnos heteroseksualne i homoseksualne kulture ovisio o različitim društvenim, političkim, vjerskim i regionalnim razlikama. U tom kontekstu dominacija heteroseksualne kulture je često bila kroz povijest opravdana trenutnim i općim karakteristikama pojedinog razdoblja, dok je homoseksualna kultura kao posljedica takvog stava uglavnom bila društveno stigmatizirana i izolirana.
Nadalje, najveće promjene događaju se u dvadesetom stoljeću kada emancipacija žena i seksualna revolucija vode prema liberalizaciji seksualne kulture općenito. Najznačajniji pomaci vidljivi su u percepciji muško-ženskog braka, ali i postupnom mijenjaju stava prema istospolnim praksama i njihovoj integraciji u širi društveni kolektiv. Upravo je zbog stalne promjene unutar svijeta seksualnosti važno znati temeljne povijesne pretpostavke koje su oblikovale današnje stavove i razmišljanja.

Abstract (english)

The area of human sexuality has seen many transformations during the history. If one focused in the ancien times, middle ages, the new age and the modern times, one could see that the relationship between heterosexual culture and homosexual culture depended on various social, political, religious and regional circumstances. That is why the domination of the heterosexual culture is often justified by general characteristics of each historical era, while the homosexual culture was stigmatized and isolated. The biggest change happened in the twentieth century when the emancipation of women and the sexual revolution led to general changes in the sexual culture. The biggest progress was seen in the perception of the heterosexual marriage and in the general attitude towards the homosexual culture that became more positive. To sum up, because of the constant changes in the world of sexuality it is important to know the basic assumptions that shaped current attitudes and opinions.
