Abstract

U ovome se radu istražuje značenje širenja mrežne (online) trgovine u Europi i veza s
tekućim terorizmom u okviru shvaćanja koncepta tekuće modernosti autora Zygmunda
Baumana. Glavni cilj ovoga istraživanja jest povezati terorističke napade na području zemalja
članica Europske unije s promjenama u mrežnoj (online) trgovini. Za istraživanje su se
koristili podaci iz Biltena EUROPOL-a u razdoblju od 2009. godine do 2020. godine i DESI
indeks (The digital Economy and Society Index) u razdoblju od 2015. godine do 2020. godine.
Na temelju analiziranih podataka dan je uvid u to postoji li prostor za razvitak tekućeg
terorizma i njegovih implikacija, koje su povezane sa širenjem značaja mrežne (online)
trgovine. Podaci ukazuju na smanjenje broja počinjenih terorističkih napada na području
zemalja članica Europske unije i povećanje broja uhićenja promatranjem promjena u razvitku
mrežne (online) trgovine. Uz to istražena je i mogućnost može li tekući terorizam utjecati na
mrežnu trgovinu, odnosno na njezin rast ili mogući pad, dok je utvrđena i mogućnost kasnijeg
ublažavanja utjecaja tekućeg terorizma. Za provedeno istraživanje bilo je potrebno definirati
pojmove tekuće modernosti, mrežne trgovine i terorizma. Rezultati dobiveni u ovom
istraživanju impliciraju na pojavu tekućeg terorizma u budućem periodu, u kojemu se otvara
prostor za razvitak istog.

Abstract (english)

This paper explores the significance of the importance of online commerce in
Europe and the connections with liquid terrorism within the understanding of the concept of
liquid modernity by Zygmund Bauman. The main goal of this research is to link terrorist
attacks in the territory of EU member states with changes in online trade. The research used
data from the EUROPOL Bulletin in the period from 2009 to 2020 and the DESI index (The
digital Economy and Society Index) in the period from 2015 to 2020. Based on the analyzed
data, an insight is given into the space for the development of liquid terrorism and its
implications, which are related to the spread of the importance of online trade. These data
indicate a decrease in the number of terrorist attacks committed in the territory of the EU
member states and an increase in the number of pleasures, and by observing changes in the
development of online trade. In addition, the possibility that liquid terrorism may affect
network trade, more precisely its growth or decline, was explored, while the possibility of
later mitigating the impact of liquid terrorism was identified. For the conducted research, it
was necessary to define the concepts of liquid modernity, network trade, and terrorism. The
results obtained in this research imply the emergence of liquid terrorism in the future, in
which space is opened for its development.
