| Abstract | Ovaj diplomski rad istražuje koncept multimodalnosti kroz analizu elemenata korejske pop
kulture, s fokusom na glazbene video spotove. Korejska pop kultura, poznata kao K-pop, postala
je globalni fenomen privlačeći pažnju milijuna obožavatelja diljem svijeta. Rad se bavi analizom
video spotova korejskih glazbenih grupa, točnije korejske pop grupe BTS, kroz prizmu
multimodalnosti i analize sadržaja kao teorijskog okvira.
U uvodu se razmatra koncept multimodalnosti kao istraživačka perspektiva koja prepoznaje
složenost komunikacije putem različitih modaliteta kao što su slika, zvuk, tekst i geste. Nakon
toga, analizira se korejska pop kultura kao primjer koji prikazuje spajanje određenih elemenata
kako bi se stvorila multimodalnost, ponajviše u glazbenim videospotovima.
Glavno poglavlje razmatra video spot „Blood Sweat and Tears" od BTS-a, koristeći multimodalni
pristup kako bi analizirao kombinaciju vizualnih, zvučnih, tekstualnih i kinestetičkih elemenata
unutar videa. Ovaj primjer ilustrira kako su modaliteti međusobno povezani da bi se prenijele
dublje emocionalne, simboličke i estetske poruke.
Nadalje, rad istražuje ulogu simbolike, koreografije, kostima i ostalih vizualnih elemenata unutar
K-pop videospotova, te kako ovi elementi doprinose stvaranju značenja. Također, proučava se
interakcija između tekstualnih, vizualnih, pokretnih i zvučnih modova te kako se ona odražava na
doživljaj gledatelja.
Kroz svoje analize, ovaj diplomski rad pokušava istražiti na koji način multimodalnost obogaćuje
i produbljuje komunikaciju unutar korejske pop kulture, istražujući načine na koje različiti
modaliteti doprinose stvaranju bogatstva značenja, emocija i estetike. |
| Abstract (english) | This master's thesis explores the concept of multimodality through the analysis of elements within
Korean pop culture, with a focus on music videos. Korean pop culture, known as K-pop, has
become a global phenomenon, captivating the attention of millions of fans worldwide. The study
delves into the analysis of music videos from Korean music groups, specifically the Korean pop
group BTS, through the lens of multimodality and content analysis as theoretical frameworks.
The introduction contemplates the concept of multimodality as a research perspective that
recognizes the complexity of communication through various modes such as imagery, sound, text,
and gestures. Subsequently, Korean pop culture is examined as as an example that illustrates the
merging of specific elements to create multimodality, primarily in music videos.
The main chapter centers around the music video "Blood Sweat & Tears" by BTS, employing a
multimodal approach to analyze the combination of visual, auditory, textual, and kinesthetic
elements within the video. This example illustrates how these modalities are interlinked to convey
deeper emotional, symbolic, and aesthetic messages.
Furthermore, the study explores the role of symbolism, choreography, costumes, and other visual
components within K-pop music videos and how these elements contribute to meaning-making. It
also examines the interaction between textual, visual, kinetic, and auditory modes and how it
influences the viewers' experience.
Through its analyses, this master's thesis attempts to investigate how multimodality enriches and
deepens communication within Korean pop culture, exploring ways in which diverse modalities
contribute to the creation of richness in meaning, emotions, and aesthetics. |
