Abstract

Ovaj diplomski rad istražuje budućnost virtualne i proširene stvarnosti u medijima, ističući njihov razvoj, primjene i potencijalne izazove. Na početku, rad predstavlja koncepte virtualne i proširene stvarnosti, prateći njihov povijesni razvoj i tehnološke temelje, poput hardverskih i softverskih aspekata. Analiza se potom bavi primjenom ovih tehnologija u različitim medijskim formatima kao što su filmska industrija, novinarstvo, televizija, marketing i obrazovanje. Predstavljeni su relevantni primjeri, poput filma "Avatar" i platformi kao što su Second Life i Snapchat, koje ilustriraju imerzivna iskustva koja omogućuju tehnologiju virtualne i proširene stvarnosti. Nadalje, rad se bavi budućim izazovima i prilikama, raspravljajući o tehničkim, pravnim, etičkim, ekonomskim i društvenim učincima. Studija zaključuje naglašavanjem transformativnog potencijala virtualne i proširene stvarnosti u stvaranju interaktivnih, sveobuhvatnih iskustava i poziva na interdisciplinarni pristup u rješavanju evoluirajuće okoline medijske tehnologije. Ovo sveobuhvatno ispitivanje nudi vrijedan uvid u to kako tehnologije virtualne i proširene stvarnosti oblikuju budućnost medija, upućujući na potrebu za stalnim istraživanjem i inovacijama kako bi se iskoristio njihov puni potencijal.

Abstract (english)

This thesis explores the future of virtual augmented reality in the media, highlighting its development, applications and potential challenges. At the beginning, the paper presents the concepts of virtual and augmented reality, following their historical development and technological foundations, such as hardware and software aspects. The analysis then deals with the application of these technologies in different media formats such as the film industry, journalism, television, marketing and education. Relevant examples are presented, such as the movie "Avatar" and platforms such as Second Life and Snapchat, which illustrate the immersive experiences enabled by virtual and augmented reality technology. Furthermore, the paper addresses future challenges and opportunities, discussing technical, legal, ethical, economic and social impacts. The study emphasizes the transformative potential of virtual and augumented reality in creating interactive, immersive experiences and calls for an interdisciplinary approach in addressing the evolving environment of media technology. This comprehensive survey offers valuable insight into how virtual and augmented reality technologies are shaping the future of media, pointing to the need for continued research and innovation to harness their full potential.
